Music, community, revelry coalesce for a serious cause at Hot Chocolate Run, Daily Hampshire Gazette, December 2.

Sunday morning, when thousands of people gather in downtown Northampton for the eighth annual Hot Chocolate Run for Safe Passage, it shouldn’t be too hard to pick out The Expandable Brass Band. They’ll be the ones toting sousaphones, trumpets, saxophones and drums…

We’ll also be making a lot of noise! See you on Main Street Sunday morning.

Honk! Oct. 1 and 2

The Expandables are excited about Honk!, the festival of activist street bands. We and 26 of our bestest friends are filling the streets of Somerville and Cambridge with free music the first weekend in October.

On Saturday the first, we play two sets: 2 PM in Kenney Park and 5 PM at Davis Square Plaza. On Sunday the second, we join in a parade at noon from Davis Square down Mass Ave. to Cambridge Square. Then, at 2:15, we play a set for the Octoberfest in Winthrop Park. Confused yet? Check out the full schedule to get all the details.
